This collage of a chicory flower on slate was inspired by a photo taken in the pasture of my farm in Atkins, Virginia. The slate to which it was applied came from an old rooftop shingle. The torn paper is glued to the slate, then sealed and finished with satin finish polyurethane.
The slate is 7 x 9 inches in size. It includes a hemp twine hanger threaded through holes at the top and fastened with small white beads.
